Google Drive Integration
Create Google Files from Vecta dashboard
In order to create Google files from Vecta dashboard, users need to first authorize their Google account.
At the left panel of the dashboard, click Add Google Drive under Integration section.
After authorization is successful, click on your dashboard's Create button and you will see extra options to create Google files, for example New Google Docs, New Google Sheets and New Google Slides.
Choose the desired type of Google file you want and there will be a pop-up tab for you to edit the Google file.
In the dashboard, all the Google files will have Google Drive icon at the bottom right corner to differentiate them from the usual Vecta drawings.
Google Files Functions
Each Google file can perform the same functions as a Vecta drawing, such as Rename, Refresh and so on.
For some functions, users need to authorize it in order to allow the updates to be stored in Google Drive.
List of functions that require authorization:
- Move to trash
- Rename
- Refresh
- Share functions
Google Files Ownership
When a user creates a Google file in personal dashboard, it belongs to the user only.
If a user shares a Google file to another user or move it into a team, the permission for the Google file will be changed to public, anyone with access will be granted Viewer or Editor privileges.
When a user creates a Google file in a team, the permissions will be set to Public, and anyone who has access will be granted Editor privileges.
The reason that the file is made public is to allow users that do not have Gmail to access the file.
Deleting Google Files
To trash a Google file:
