Personalized dashboard

Vecta's dashboard is always customized for your personal view where drawings are sorted by dates, and recently modified drawings can be found at the top.

Drawings at Home tab are your personal drawings, where drawings in Teams, are automatically shared among teammates.

Creating teams and automatically sharing drawings with colleagues, customers and vendors offers a huge improvement in productivity, and is the recommended way to use Vecta.

You can easily move between Home and Teams by switching tabs on the left navigation bar.

At the top of the dashboard, there are tools to further customize your dashboard view. Use these tools to change to list or grid view, or changing the sorting order of your drawings.

All changes will be remembered across all the devices you used to access Vecta, for a consistent experience.

The dashboard is divided into sections where every section can be expanded or collapsed with a simple click for better viewing.

Using folders

Use folders to organize your drawings into projects or topics. Folders can contain sub folders, which in turn can continue to contain sub folders with no limits in depth.

To create a folder at the root of Home or Team, click on your dashboard's Create button and select New Folder.

To create a sub folder, click on a folder to expand it, then right click on an empty space and select New folder.

Refreshing folders

To refresh a folder:

  • Right click on a folder and select Refresh

Refreshing folders ensures that your view will be updated with the latest changes on files and drawings in your folder.

To rename a folder, right click on the folder and type away.

To move a folder, right click on the folder and select Move to, then select a destination folder.

Alternatively, you can also drag and drop a folder to a destination folder.

Trashing, restoring and permanently deleting folders

Right click on a folder and select Move to trash to trash a folder. Once trashed, your folder will remain in Trash for 30 days for freemium users and 90 days for paid users.

To restore a folder, click on Trash on the left navigation bar, right click on a folder and select Restore. Restored folders will always be placed at the root folder of Home or Team depending on their original location.

To permanently delete a folder, right click on a folder in Trash and select Delete.

Easily find any drawings, folders and templates using the search bar. Once found, click on the results to open a drawing or jump to the found folder.

How to find a drawing's location

Click on the search bar, and type in the name of the drawing, then click the results to open the drawing. Once opened, click on File | Document Setup.

Export drawing in the dashboard

To export a drawing:

  • Right click on a drawing and choose Export
  • Then, Choose your desired format

Import PDF to the dashboard

To import a PDF file:

  • Drag a PDF file and drop it onto the dashboard
